weekly update

September 5, 2018 by Leigh Warmbrand

Hope you are well! Last Sunday we studied “being filled with the Spirit” from Ephesians 5:15-21 at the 9:30 hour and I preached from 1 Peter 2:11-12, “You are sojourners and exiles.” You can find the sermon audio at the tab above or through our FaceBook page. This Sunday will be a congregation meeting at 9:30 to discuss and vote on new members – everyone is invited to attend. I will preach on “meaningful membership” at the 10:30 hour.

IMPORTANT DATES and MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES

  • September 9 will be a prayer meeting at the Warmbrand’s, 1:30 pm.
  • AWANA Truthseekers begins on Wednesday, September 12, from 6:30-8:00 pm, at the Chamberlain Community Center. If you are led to help in any way with this ministry to the community, please let pastor and Kathy know.
  • Sunday school for all ages begins 9:30 on September 16. Pastor will begin a study seeing Jesus through the prophet Isaiah.
  • Men’s and women’s home-group meeting will begin Monday, September 17, 6:30-8:00 pm at Chuck and Alissa’s home. We’ll have time for Bible reading, prayer, and fellowship, and continue weekly until December, with some breaks.
  • Servant board meets Tuesday, September 18 in Reliance.

Please pray about direction, building, and ministry opportunities. Where will we be 10 years from now?

Praise God Uncle Danny can come home early on leave for Thanksgiving! We also praise God for safety in fixing a roof, the Bible studies and meetings we have, our church family, and opportunities to witness. Please keep Katy in prayer for family issues, all workers and staff and students at area schools, and Alissa for her health. We lift up Larry as he prepares to preach in November and Amanda who is working in a new city overseas. We are thankful the Todd Becker Foundation was able to speak in Chamberlain this past week.

Blessings to you,

Leigh
