good news

Jesus did mighty works, wonders, and signs. He proved who He was time and again. As a result, He was crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men, according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God. But God raised him up and loosed the pangs of death, because it was not possible for Him to be held by it. This is good news!

You see, Jesus was not abandoned to the grave, His body was not corrupted. God raised Jesus up, and many people saw Him, the risen Savior. This is the resurrection we celebrate throughout the year and especially on Easter. It is an historical event; there’s more proof that Jesus rose from the grave than Julius Caesar ever lived! That is good news!

After He rose, He went up to heaven and sits today at the right hand of God, interceding for us and waiting for the Day He will come back, claiming what is His and sitting on His throne. Let everyone know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Savior. Where will you be on that Day? What do you do with this Jesus?

When the people heard this message, they were cut to the heart (Acts 2:37). What should they do? What should you do? “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to Himself (Acts 2:38-39).” Today is the day to admit you have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Today is the day to trust in Him, that He paid your debt and took the punishment you deserved. Today is the day to have new life with Him. This is good news!
